I have always wanted to meet Ms. Lee Esselström who is a creator of the strömsötröjan sweater for a long time.

When I finished the strömsö sweater and I found many photos of the Finnish women wearing the sweaters, I felt a certain solidarity and sisterhood.

I had felt lonely because of the Covid pandemic and the situation in Ukraine.

Wearing the same sweater, I became friends with them.

I also knitted one for my mother, whom I could see only through Zoom.

And I finally got to meet her at a knitting workshop during the Finnish-Swedish Week organized by the Finnish Institute in Japan.

It was an unforgettable experience!
